We Didn't Set Out to Build A Drill. We Needed One That Didn't Exist.

BUILT IN A LAB

Built From A Real Problem. Tested in A Real Lab.

ST3 wasn't designed in a boardroom. It was developed in a robotics laboratory, tested on the same materials and assemblies that engineers and makers work with every day — aluminum frames, stainless hardware, PCB boards, carbon fiber.

Every feature on ST3 exists because we needed it ourselves. The dual-rail vertical guidance system came from drilling aluminum profiles where a 2° deviation meant a misaligned joint. The ±0.1mm depth display came from tapping blind holes where depth wasn't a preference — it was a requirement. The auto-reverse tapping protection came from a lab table covered in broken taps.

We built the tool we needed. Then we made it available to everyone who needs it too.

THE PROBLEM

Title

Isen Mach has spent his career at the intersection of hardware engineering and product creation. After working at DJI — where precision isn't a preference, it's a requirement — he went on to build EBO, the home robot that went on to win the CES Innovation Award and be recognized by PC Mag as Best Smart Home Tech.

The next problem came from his own robotics lab. Every drilled hole had to be exact. Every tapped thread had to hold. The margin for error was zero. But every handheld drill on the market left too much to the operator — the angle, the depth, the consistency. One degree off, and a part wouldn't fit. One millimeter too deep, and the workpiece was scrap.

He spent two years solving it. The result is ST3.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Title

Precision Isn't A Feature. It's The Baseline.

Most tools are built for the average case. ST3 is built for the moment when average isn't enough — when the material is expensive, the tolerance is tight, and you only get one shot.

We believe the gap between professional equipment and handheld tools doesn't have to be as wide as it is. We believe mechanical engineering, not software workarounds, is the right way to solve precision problems. And we believe the person holding the tool deserves to know exactly what it's doing — in real time, to 0.1mm.

We also believe the best ideas don't all come from us. That's why ST3's guide system is open — every attachment interface is documented, every 3D model is yours to download, modify, and print. If you need a 45° guide for pipe drilling, build it. If you need a custom fixture for an irregular workpiece, design it. The tool is the platform. What you make with it is yours.

That's the spirit we're building around. One tool. An open ecosystem. And a community of makers who refuse to settle for close enough.
