Tile appears throughout bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and entryways. Common projects include installing towel rails, shelves, hooks, mirrors, cabinets, and shower accessories. The challenge is not usually whether the drill can produce enough torque. It is starting the hole without scratching the glazed surface or allowing the bit to move away from the mark.
A diamond or tile-specific bit should be matched to the material. Ceramic tile, porcelain, natural stone, and glass tile do not all respond in the same way. The drilling speed, cooling method, and amount of pressure may therefore need to change from one surface to another.

Where water is required for cooling, the work area and electrical equipment must be managed appropriately, and dust extraction should not be combined with a wet process unless the equipment is specifically designed for it.
